My boyfriend and I were on a roadtrip through GB and we also wanted to visit the Isle of Skye, so I booked us a night in this B&B. I have Celiac Disease and some other intolerances, including cows milk and eggs so it is very important for me to arrange and book everything in advance. So I did all this and was confirmed that they would have everything for gluten free breakfast for me there. UNfortunately this turned out to be wrong. They had no bread and nothing, in fact they could hardly find some beans which by any chance could be GF... As we were travelling by car and I feared that something like this would come up at some point, I fortunately had everything in the car and got it from there... But if this would have not been the case, I would have had a real problem.
In addition to this, we wanted to go out for dinner the evening we arrived and we were then told that we would be lucky if we would get a table anywere at all as they only have 3 restaurant in this small village.... When I asked if they would know if any of them would serve GF dishes, they said they didn't know... Well, do I need to say that if one has a guest coming who needs special food, one should also see if there is a restaurant around and ask in advance? Or at least tell the guests to book a table... Well, after all we found a table in a restaurant after waiting for hours and even that was bad as I got very ill from that food.... We really regret that we drove all the way out to Dunvegan, it was just a complete waste of time...
