I have been wanting to visit this place for a while and the right special occassion came up so we decided to head far north for what we hoped was going to be a fantastic meal in an beautiful location. And in short it lived up to its reputation and more.
Yes, unless you already live in the highlands, it is a long way, but it is an amazing drive with beautiful scenery, and as previous reviewers said, have a look on google maps to avoid arriving disgruntled.
We were fortunate to be staying for the evening so checked in and got our first taste of the famous kitchen, granted only a brownie but what a brownie!! Our room was lovely, clean and Linda who was looking after us couldn't have been more helpful.
So on to real reason why I wanted to visit the 'Three Chimneys', the restaurant. From entering it felt pretty special and we felt instantly relaxed. After a quick drink we where sat in the great little dining room and from then on the staff where exactly what you want from a place like this. Effecient, knowledgeable, polite, and very friendly. The menu was one of those ones that you actually hum and haw about your choice for a while, as I wanted to try it all. We chose the three course menu and were happy we did, although the table next to ours had the Taste of Skye menu (seven courses), again looked amazing! The food was all obviously local and in season and as was so close to the sea we decided to both go for fish mains and both where complex dishes, with all the elements cooked to their best. Deserts cooked by lizzie, devine and thank-you to Richard for the amazing service and great wine advise that made the meal.
All in all, these little things including the company made it a memorable meal.
Thank-you to the team who looked after us
