Booking at short notice, we were only able to stay 2 nights, wishing it could have been more. With cool weather, the skylight in our upstairs room provided some welcome late-May sun. Ian and Ann spent lots of time telling us about Skye, which was especially useful as one of our objectives was to locate the abode of 1850s ancestors. We also got advice on walking to the relevant deserted villages on the S coast. Two restaurants within a few hundred metres have very good seafood.
The upstairs bedroom in the remodeled crofters cottage had a sea view to the N, and was wonderfully cosy. We spent considerable time in the downstairs sitting room, well supplied with books about Skye, and lots of other books to while away the time we did not have on this short visit.
