Stayed here for three nights in a room overlooking the rear car park... The hotel is situated on the road to Portree in the centre of Broadford which is a busy wee place but which was a bit quiet on our visit.
The hotel itself is fine, the decor (which seems to have offended some people) can basically be described as "Brown" but is clean. The rooms were of a good size, fairly basically decorated but perfectly fine.
Visiting in February meant that the hotel restaurant/bar was closed which was unfortunate and meant that it was only open for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent on two of the mornings but a bit poor on the third when I'm fairly certain the chef must have had the morning off.
My main gripe is that due to the restaurant being closed any meals at the hotel were taken in the "locals bar" which is attached. That was a bit of an adventure. Locals gather round the bar, which is at one corner of the premises, about two deep and chat loudly about their lives, never looking round, never budging to let the visitors/strangers in. This means that ordering from the bar requires the visitor to jump up and down in the air, much like how the tribesmen on the Maasai Mara dance, in order to gain the attention of the staff.
I'd go back but in the Summer when Skye is actually open for business and when the rain isn't coming in sideways.
