My wife and I are reluctant reviewers but on this occasion, we thought that we should complete a review.
the Govans is an older style B&B, located at the top of the town, with a very steep climb from the front and is only really suited to peoplewith their own transport.
The house is difficult to find as there is no sign referring to The Govans directing you to the house and it is down a little lane opposite a B&B called Little Erray that is registered with the Tourist Board.
The govans is not registered with the Tourist Board and in future , we will only book with registered properties as the Board is responsibler for ensuring that appropriate standards are met..
The accomodation at The Governs is two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, with their own outer door, which are attached to the house by an intertnal door. Access is somewhat demanding as you climb slightly awkward steps and a path that leads to the outer door.
The rooms are dark as they face a bank only about a yard from the window so light is restricted. The rooms are small and there is no room for a chair.
Colin and Gill run the business but as Gill works, Colin effectively looks after things.
Our main concern was that during our five day stay, the room was neither tidied or the beds made, as I understand from the Local Tourist Board is the normal practice with B&B Accomodation and it felt a little that the property was a little neglected.
Having expressed reservations about the property, the breakfasts were good and Colin and Gill were always very helpful throughout our stay.
