I first set foot in the Bellachroy in 1977 when I spent a very happy few weeks working there after finishing my A levels. I went back on several occasions in the early 80's but our most recent trip was my first time on the island in nearly thirty years. I'm delighted to say Mull hasn't changed a bit, nor has the warm welcome we received from Nick and his staff at the Bellachroy. What HAS changed is the food at the Bellachroy, which, whilst always good back in the day, is altogether more sophisticated here in the 21st century. I've never tasted such wonderful smoked salmon and the venison burger topped with haggis was a triumph. I confess I had been slightly worried that the magic of Mull might have faded in the intervening years, but I needn't have been concerned. We had a marvellous time and were looked after royally, and will definitely heading back again this year.
