While already been living 2 years in Scotland, my brother and his wife visited me and asked for a proper highland experience. I booked Ardness House 2 days before departure and I must admit it was a great hit.
House is located just off the picturesque and peaceful Bunessan bay, really close to the northmost part of the Mull. Our host from the very first second made us feel like she was our closest relative. My company was surprised by her friendliness and sense of humour.
Rooms were perfectly set, clean and cosy. Double comfy beds offered as a great sleep.
The view was respectively breathtaking and representative of the west coast's landscape.
Since the whole area was not that developed and the only going out option was the pub at the north edge of the isle we were asked if we wanted to have a dinner prepared for us there. We accepted and that particular dinner came to be added to the already wonderful experience. Home made salmon , strawberries trifle an tea was all we needed to close our day in the atmospheric surroundings of the scottish isle.
All in all, i would definitely recommend Ardness house to anybody who picks up Mull as his destination. The fact that it's not close to a main town (Tobermory) is a plus if you are asking me cause the only way to appreciate the serene and mysterious scottish nature is to find yourself alone close to hidden ancient stone docks and virgin woodlands. Ardness is withing walking distance from all these
