We called here for dinner as an alternative to our usual The Keel Row in Fionnphort. We had not booked thinking we would be ok for a table at 6.15, and the restaurant did not look busy. We were told there would be a half hour wait to take our order and we decided that was okay. Although there were plenty of empty tables we were sat at a table next to a family with noisy dogs and children and we did not receive our order for an hour and a half. Three out of four in our party enjoyed our food, but part way through eating there was a power cut. Staff made no attempt to ask if we were ok, as we ate in the dark, we even had to fetch our own candle from the resident's restaurant. When we paid the bill there were no apologies for the poor service. Needless to say we will not return here. Pity - because the location at the water's edge is superb.

This hotel appeared in most of the paperwork around the Island and in the tourist documentation before we went. Thus thought it was a good bet BUT WE WERE WRONG. The rooms were dated in poor condition and the shower looked like it was going to fall apart. We had two rooms, a double and a twin and both were in the same condition. On top of which we were placed in rooms directly above the bar despite being out of season and not full by any stretch of the imagination. There are good B & Bs around which would be much more inviting and clean.
The food however was very good so for a stop for dinner would be ok but do not stay the night
It was not good value for money and sadly let itself down..........

was in area workin and alone used hotel for food and drinks food very good staff very very friendly and attentive chris and chloe were always on the ball and hope to see them again in spring 2012 when i shall be there for visit to the island was here form 16th till 21 sept 2011

Four road weary bikers arrived to a warm welcome and were shown to two lovely rooms with excellent views, we were treated in a very friendly manner and all the staff were very attentive. The evening meal was delayed for an hour due to an accident in the kitchen but as we were fully informed and offered bread rolls whilst waiting (which we declined) we just sipped our drinks and waited patiently, when the food arrived we were offered another apology and the food was a generous portion and yummy. The locals use the Hotel bar in the evening and are all very friendly making us feel very welcome. All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel as biker friendly.
