was in area workin and alone used hotel for food and drinks food very good staff very very friendly and attentive chris and chloe were always on the ball and hope to see them again in spring 2012 when i shall be there for visit to the island was here form 16th till 21 sept 2011

Four road weary bikers arrived to a warm welcome and were shown to two lovely rooms with excellent views, we were treated in a very friendly manner and all the staff were very attentive. The evening meal was delayed for an hour due to an accident in the kitchen but as we were fully informed and offered bread rolls whilst waiting (which we declined) we just sipped our drinks and waited patiently, when the food arrived we were offered another apology and the food was a generous portion and yummy. The locals use the Hotel bar in the evening and are all very friendly making us feel very welcome. All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel as biker friendly.

This is the only pub/restaurant in the village therefore it has no competition. We have stayed in the area several times and eaten at the restaurant also. We noticed this year a significant change in attitude. To be fair, the food was good and no complaints in that area. However, the service and general attitude of the manager and staff was 'take it or leave it'. We were waiting for 50 minutes for a starter, during which nobody came to apologise or explain the reason for the delay. When it eventually arrived it came with a very casual "sorry for the wait' (like you get in costa coffee after a 5 minutes!) the main meal came after another half hour. No apology at all this time. When we were leaving and went to pay the bill we were asked casually, "was everything ok?' when we expressed our dissatisfaction we were met with surprise (real or otherwise) and dismissive attitude. Unfortunately, the manager was complaining about customers in hearing of the whole restaurant which was disappointing to hear. General impression was that the manager and staff really just could not care less. They are the only eating establishment in the village therefore dont need to try. Sorry but true and am afraid there are other reviews which echos this.

Rooms etc okish - but no TV , room literature says Breakfast till 11, sign outside says Breakfast till 11 , first morning went for breakfast at 9.50 - no problem if a bit stingy - next morning same time - were told breakfast finished at 9.30 !!!!! - non residents come of the road at 10.30 and are given breakfast - they simply don't appear to care.
