We stayed here for four nights in July while attending the Hebridean Celtic Festival. We had a large twin room with ensuite bathroom, which, though it faced onto a road was quite quiet, so good night sleep was not a problem. Both the room and the bathroom could have been cleaned to a higher standard. We were a little disappointed in the car parking arrangements, because we were led to expect that there was private parking. The parking is actually the public car park just across the road. Happily this was free, but during the weekend of the festival we did not move our car for fear of being unable to get back in. Breakfast was okay though late risers shared space with paying customers, which felt a little odd. The location was excellent.
My problems with the Thorlee were with the payment. I secured the room by credit card on an online booking, I paid for the room at the end of our stay by debit card. Fine, or so I thought. Tthe money was duly taken from my debit card but then credited back to me twice- when I rang up about this the manager told me that he had mistakenly given the money to me but meant to refund another customer. I then found that my credit card had also been debited for the full amount and that this had happened on the second day of stay. While all of these matters were amicably resolved quickly, I was left with a very strong impression that they needed to develop some business skills. I have been assured that new systems are now in place to prevent customers being charged twice, I hope that other people have a better experience. Rose
