“A very poor reflection of Scottish Hotels”

I bought a dinner bed and breakfast deal through Groupon for my Daughter and partner
£85 instead of £205. They were unable to stay night and partake of breakfast (couldn't get babysitter) but decided to go for meal anyway. What a disgrace, the food was diabolical.
They were not allowed to order steak as it was extra, even though they were not using a bedroom or having breakfast! All they were offered was very poor pub type grub. Neither
finished their main course and refused dessert as they were so disappointed and left almost immediately. The Hotel Manager even had the gaul to say on their leaving "I hope for enjoyed your stay"! The owners should be ashamed, giving Scotland a bad name!

“Burns Supper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Been to plenty of Burns Suppers in many places but never had a better night than this. The array of talent - musical, poetic and humerous - put together by John Morgan was truly exceptional, as was the excellent food and service from the Royal Hotel. A busy night, very well organised in fine surroundings, making for a fabulous occasion all round.

I can recommend The Royal Hotel for the quality of food and service. The staff have to be the friendliest bunch found anywhere in Scotland. thomas the General Manager always appears to be around and chats freely with all the guests.

“Nice Break Away - Thankyou Royal Hotel”

I have just returned from a stay at the Royal Hotel on a Groupon voucher. I took my daughter with me as a treat for a days shopping in Stirling and a night away from 3 young kids ( 1 of whom is disabled). Having read a few scary reviews stating that the hotel was run down, threadbare and staff were unwelcoming. I can catigorically stae that we received the warmest of welcomes from all staff and yes the hotel is currently still undergoing some refurbishment, but we were given one of the refurbished rooms on the second floor (27). It was comfortable had a huge bed, immaculate bathroom and a welcome pack of chocs and fruit. The food at dinner was fantastic, hot and tasty and the service attentive. The Royal breakfast was even better!!!. In fact my daughter picked up a few of the offer leaflets from reception and has requested to return this year as a birthday treat. As a mum of 3, my daughter does not get much of a break and I would like to thank the Royal Hotel staff for a lovely relaxing night away and a little mother /daughter bonding time . Keep up the good work and we will definately return later this year:)

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd floor to side of hotel overlooking car park - very quiet

“Excellent value for money!”

Stayed at the Royal Hotel with my partner in January 2012. Had previously stayed in February 2011 before the refurb was done. What a difference this has made! Had the same room as I previously stayed, so it was nice to see the big changes that were made. Thomas the General Manager at the hotel and Staff are very friendly and welcoming Check in was straight forward. Bar area very modern. Food was great. Would certainly recommend this hotel, excellent value for money!
