stayed here after calling in "on speck" whilst cycling. A simple, typical Scottish Pub but I was made very welcome and the double room at £30 was great value. Called in at the Abbington Hotel (Days Inn) before hand - give that a wide berth!!

A lovely family owned hotel, run by two charming young Eastern european young women. Delightful service, spotlessly clean. No high aspirations, simple food prepared with care (although mainly from pre-prepared catering supplies). Reasonably priced. Excellently placed as a stop over when touring, very close to the A74 (M), on a road running parallel to the main road so you can stop off without having to retrace your steps to get back on track. Much better (and cheaper if there is more than 1 of you) than the nearby Days Inn at Abington! Check out the website.
