We stayed at High Meadows just for the one night as we were attending a wedding nearby. Doreen (the owner) was extremely helpful and even dropped us off to save us getting a taxi there, she then supplied us with a local taxi number so we could organise a taxi back late on. The bedroom was very comfortable (we stayed in the double) with it's own en suite/tv/tea coffee etc. Breakfast was plentiful and of a very good standard. The place was immaculately clean, Doreen obviously puts alot into making sure her guests are comfortable. If I am ever in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to book there. Oh and the price was great - only £50 for the two of us.

This B & B is located in a very quiet location a few miles from Biggar in South Lanarkshire. The standard of cleanliness is excellent, the breakfasts are ample, with a good choice offered. Doreen Stewart, the hostess, is friendly, polite and very helpful. A pleasing aspect of this place is the good bathroom facilities, with wash basins that are of standard size rather than the miniature versions that are so common in B & Bs. Young children should enjoy the sheep, the puppies and, in season, the newly hatched chicks. High Meadows is not within walking distance of restaurants or pubs, but Biggar is only a few miles away and one can eat well in its pubs, which are child-friendly. I think that this is one of the very best B & Bs that I have stayed in.
