“Good service”

Compliments to the pleasant and hard working staff at the Strathpeffer.

I agree with some previous reviews that the public areas need some tlc, but our room was light and large with plenty of space and storage, although I was grateful to another trip advisor member for pointing out where the electrical socket was! (room 33)
We stayed for four nights and I found the food was good on the whole, but I had the carnivore options and my friends were less impressed with the fish and vegetarian choices.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and was entertained by the eccentric and interesting decor.

“welcoming and great value for money”

We were part of a National Holidays coach tour and spent 4 nights in the hotel. We were given a warm and informative welcome by Mimi and quickly allocated our rooms. We had requested 'a room with a view' on booking and were given the honeymoon suite !
The hotel was warm and the meals were at restaurant standard. The friendliness of the staff and tidiness of the hotel more than made up for the well worn bits. We thought it was fabulous value for money and would return and do it all again

“As a stop over it's fine”

Stayed one night in the Strathpeffer Hotel last friday and what an experience. All the staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel needs to be updated. We were placed in a room away from the main hotel and our view was and old traffic cone and a tank of some kind. Everything was a little tired but the bed was comfortable and the amenities worked (which was a surprise when you looked at them). No hairdryer which was a shame. Heating worked. Shower was hot and good pressure. The evening meal (which we paid extra for as we were not on a tour bus) was "fine". that's all I can say. food had a 70s feel and taste to it, which would suit the majority of tastes. the had a changing menu but there would be nothing local or sourced about the dishes. considering the average age that stop at this hotel is 70, judging by the night we stayed, it caters for their tastes very well. This is a hotel that caters for three day bus tour groups (on the whole) and it does what it says on the tin.

Room Tip: Staff are helpful and try to accommodate where they can. Everything needs some tlc so if you can pu...

“Friendly welcome, great breakfast.”

Stayed here with family on way back from Western Isles. Reception couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Rooms tired and out of date, but beds clean and deliciously comfortable. Bathroom looked a real state as though needed refurb many years ago, however i had a steaming hot bath using complimentary toiletries and then slept like a log. Geat stopover, not for romantic dream but certainly ticked boxes for us. Priorities of comfy bed, hot bath and great breakfast at reasonable price- go for it!
