Excellent welcome.... lovely building and room! Huge breakfast... perfect place to use as a base for exploring the Black Isle, make sure you have a wander around Cromarty as there's lots to see!

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to visit Chanonry Point to try and see the Bottle-Nosed Dolphins - which we did, fantastic.

But Cromarty and the Black Isle had a lot more to offer and we really enjoyed our stay at the Gisborne. The sandstone building is an old cottage hospital so the corridors and long and the ceilings high. Rhona welcomed us with a pot of tea and made us very welcome. All rooms are ground floor and our family room had a double aspect with a king bed and a single. It was not en-suite but there were no other guests and the shower room was right next door.

We also visited Tarbat and the Discovery Centre at Portmahomack was excellent with fascinating artefacts from its Pict history. The Ness and Lighthouse felt remote and were great for rockpools and birdlife. The 2 car Nigg-Cromarty ferry was an interesting experience, seemingly held together by rust!

In the evening, we ate in Fortrose after seeing the dolphins at the Eilan Dubh restaurant. Looks like a cafe but in fact very good bistro style food. Only problem that no ventilation so very hot.

Breakfast next morning at the Gisborne was enormous and the final bill was just £60 for all three of us. What a bargain and what a lovely place Cromarty is. Many thanks to Rhona for her hospitality.

My husband and I recently had a very lovely 2 night stay at the Gisborne. We can very highly recommend this B&B, with a very warm and friendly welcome and service throughout. Very clean, comfortable, inexpensive and a lovely home cooked breakfast.

We didn't feel that we were imposing at all as you can sometimes feel in B&B's. We will definately return there and to also to see the Dolphins at Chanory point, there isn't adequate words to describe watching them, it is just marvellous.

Family run B&B that is clean, friendly, inexpensive, spacious rooms, located on the ocean front by the harbour and very generous breakfast what more can you say.

This used to be the village hosptial and both owners were born here!!!! They recently bought it and converted it into a B&B.

Had a great day including a dolphin tour, then a walk up the cliffs (user friendly) which had fantastic views and WW2 bunkers along the way and diner at the pub around the corner.
