This is our third October half term at the summer Isles; the scenery is incredible, looking out to sea the Summer Isles provides the most beautiful back drop for meals that are presented with such pride and passion. Jody Marshall and the team educate you into their world of food and wine with genuine belief. When you see the cheese board and the deserts, the array of choice rivals the scenery which can only be described as breath-taking and spectacular.
When we met Chef Chris Firth-Bernard it was like meeting an artist, he has to be one of the world’s top chefs.
The accommodation: We stayed in the Norwegian log house, which our children love with lots of space and a log fire prepared for you every day. It’s all perfect.
Once you’ve arrived at the Summer Isles in Achiltibuie it’s so hard to go home. When we eventually left and made our way back past the lochs, past Stac Pol, past the beach and past the reservoir, knowing we will be back next October is the only reason I go to work.
I never usually write reviews or fill in evaluation sheets or even Amazon feedback forms. I had to write this review because the Summer Isles hotel is truly brilliant.
