We stayed in Achiltibuie after watching the film The Eagle (pretty good, I'd recommend it) and I'd recognised the Summer Isles. The peninsula is pretty barren so you probbaly wouldn't want to come here for the nightlife, but it's an utterly fantastic place if you want to stop, btreath and do absolutely nothing (although swimming, walking, diving and kayaking are on offer if you do get a sudden bout of energy). Getting there is part of the fun, the drive from the main road to Polbain will take your breath away. It starts beautiful and just gets better. Anyway, enough of that. 192. A lovely house with the rooms all facing out over the Summer Isles. Even the toilet windows - most spectacular pee I think i've ever had. Midge and he husband (I'm sorry, it was a while ago and i forgot his name0 were chatty and friendly without being intrusive and very knowledgable of the local area and what's going on - a bit of gossip from the eage thrown in. Room was clean, comfortable and not overdecorated. There are two places to eat, both a fair walk away, we went west and were not disappointed, either with the food or the walk. Breakfast was excellent. i'll certainly be back
