“Would consider again”

Booked a last minute holiday from Glasgow and the price of the hotel (including 15 days parking) was only £15 more expensive than our usual car park. Very good check in. Room was clean, was very small particularly when you have 2 suitcases with you. Some aspects could do modernising but bathroom was good.

We decided to eat there as they had a deal where you paid £10 and got a £17.50 food credit. Food was very good, excellent choice and well presented.

Free transport to the airport in a minibus (taxi is about £7) which leaves at 15mins to the hour, so is fairly convenient

“PARTY NIGHT WITH DOLLY AND KEN”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed the Normandy Hotel for a tribute night. Had a fantastic time, entertainment was fabulous and staff were very attentive and obliging. The manager Julie over excelled herself by her customer service and attention to detail. Would definately recommend this hotel for a party night. Breakfast was plentiful and hot and fresh with top up of coffee and tea always on hand. Room was small but very clean and decoration bright and fresh. Standard great for the price we paid. One recomendation would be to install brighter lights in bedrooms.

“Good restaurant, lovely staff - disgusting rooms”

I was sent to this hotel by my airline. The staff was wonderful, and helpful. Room service offered the most amazing Thai Green Curry dish I have ever eaten. The breakfast buffet was a real treat and had many choices. This seems like a great place for a party, but the accomodations were severley lacking.
It seems that the hotel has some nice rooms and some horrible rooms, based on theses reviews. I truly believe that some guest had great rooms BUT my room was so mad that I laid out "stepping stones" so I wouldn't have to walk on the filthy carpet in my bear feet. I have never stayed in such a horrible room in my life - but I was at the mercy of the airline.
If you can get a guarantee of a renovated room, it would be ok to stay there because the customer service is outstanding BUT you need a guarantee - my room was worse that I can explain.

Room Tip: Get the name of the person who is guaranteeing a renovated room.

“Glad I chose this one!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I stayed at the Normandy as both the jumping-off and the winding-up point of my tour through Scotland. From the moment I arrived (several hours earlier than expected) to the time I left, I was made to feel welcome and cared for. The friendly staff cheerfully took care of my every request, ensured I got to and from the train station and airport on time, and stored my bags for me after check-out so that I could wander around Renfrew before I had to leave.
The breakfast, which was included with my room, was plentiful and deliscious. Dinner, for which I paid extra, was exquisite!
The room was, in fact, small, but this is Europe, after all, and it was the size I had expected. The bed was comfortable, I had a desk with TV and phone, a large bathroom, and a large wardrobe as well. The only complaint I have about the room is that there was not enough lighting. There is a reading lamp on either side of the bed, and a lighted mirror on the desk. No other lamps, and no ceiling light.
I found the room, hallways reception area and the dining area to be impeccably clean.
