Stayed here with my family in May 2011 for a long weekend as part of a Club Le Costa promotion. To be honest we didn't expect much and were dreading the obligatory sales pitch as part of the deal, but for the price (£99) we thought it worth a gamble..
And suprised we were. The accomodation was fantastic, we were put in a spacious, modern 3 bedroom lodge. There were 6 people in our party, but the lodge could have accomodated more. It was extremely well equiped, with a large flat screen TV, and surround sound in the main livingroom. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated, and had their own small flat screens. The beds were large and very comfortable. The bathrooms and ensuite facilities were also top notch. When we arrived the fridge was stocked with complimentary wine, juice, and breakfast provisions etc. All free of charge.
We found the resort grounds to be very nice, and the pool/spa facilities basic but adequate and functional.
The resort bar was very friendly with an intimate atmosphere, with live traditional folk singers playing, on one of the nights we visited.
Our only gripe would be that there is very little else to do on site with exception of the pool/spa and hotel bar.
However for a quiet get away, or as a base for discovering this wonderful part of Scotland, it is fantastic. The self catering accomodation genuinley 5 star.
As part of our deal we did attend the sales pitch, however there was no hard sell, we listened to what was on offer, which all sounded very appealing, but it was way above our means. We explained this to the salesman, and that was that, we were treated to a full breakfast, and allowed to enjoy the rest of our break.
We wouldn't hesitate to go back for a nice relaxing long weekend
