“Lovely experience - Irene & Shane, Dundee”

I bought a Groupon Voucher for myself and my husbands anniversary for the Weem Hotel we really enjoyed our stay, not sure where the comments have come from which state grubby carpets and down at heel as this was far from our experience and I have stayed in many hotels up and down the country. Peter made us feel welcome from the off, nothing was too much trouble, the food was amazing...go for the steak. We stayed two nights and met some lovely people, we sat in the small lounge on comfy sofa's with a roaring log fire, the music and atmosphere was so relaxing you really felt like you had a break. The staff are fab, and again nothing was too much trouble, please dont take too much notice of negative comments, I would recommend this hotel, some people pay for a 3 star hotel and expect 5 star treatment! It's lovely, friendly, cosy and clean, what more could you want!

“firendly hotel staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We got a groupon voucher from our daughter for the Weem hotel, Peter and his staff at the hotel are so welcoming!!Nothing is a problem, they want you to enjoy your stay and will always accomodate your needs!
We had a beautiful meal on the Saturday night, my steak was wonderful thank you to the chef for doing it as it was not on the menu that night!! The meals were so well presented and was so good, loved the cullen skink soup!! Our room was bright and very clean and we had wine and chocolates in our room so nice! We met a lovely couple there and had a few wee drinks into the early hours!!lol. fantastic company and wonderful people who own it!!! would certainly go back!!!!

Room Tip: was on 2nd floor room 7 was lovely

“Keep going to Kenmore!”

Forget the professionally written blurb - I'm in agreement with the other people who found this to be a disappointment. Down at heel, grubby carpets in the hall and in the room and very much in need of some paintwork overall. No formal welcome....just filled in a form, got the key and directions to the room. Had to ask when breakfast was served (9am-10am!), had to ask to get the TV in the room fixed. Lock on door worked - but could be pushed open with a none too hard shove. Staff were all pretty uninvolved and altogether unprofessional in their approach. I certainly won't be coming back here....not unless there's a change of management. Hate to think what overseas visitors will make of Scotland if this is where they wind up.

“Superb food, and great character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This was an experience that started off nicely, and went up from there. My wife, our children, and I only stopped off for a casual luncheon, and found ourselves eating the best food of our entire trip.

We chose the Weem Hotel quite randomly, and upon taking our seats nothing around us gave us an indication of what we were in for. There were some cosy looking sitting rooms with log fires, where you could imagine relaxing after a long walk, however the dining room was simple and clean. The menus hinted strongly at a sense of culinary imagination you don't often see in a pub kitchen - imagination underscored with localism, bold flavours, balance, and here and there a nod to tradition. The food then exceeded our expectations. It was simply superb. It is easy to look at a menu such as this with a cynical eye, and assume the description has stretched the meaning of some words (such as "fresh") in order to fit what is on the plate, however this was not the case at all. For the record, our starters were a seafood concoction (I can't remember the names of the dishes), which was excellent, and haggis (also excellent, but we rated the seafood one highest). These were followed by lamb and venison dishes. We finished with something called "clootie dumpling" and a chocolate array.

I have to concede we might have been somewhat lucky that everything came together for us (the children were particularly well behaved), but I would happily take that chance again. The prices were what you'd expect for a pub in this part of the world, but the food far exceeded it, so I would say this is very good value. We'll definitely visit again.

“very happy with my stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Just spent two nights at The Weem Hotel. The hotel was warm and cosy with lovely log fires. Last night's meal was wonderful and the service was excellant. There was live music all evening and the candles created a lovely atmosphere
Peter (The Hotel Manager) was very helpful and friendly and made the stay most enjoyable.
Our bedroom was clean and comfortable with fluffy white towels and the shower was firstclass.
Based on the staff and their wonderful service I would highly recommend a stay.
