I really loved this place. The food was gorgeous, plentiful and reasonably priced and the service was of the sort envied by all attempting to provide this kind of service. A real tribute to the Gillespie family. Thank you.

Stayed here for two nights when taking part in a cycle event. A very nice small hotel, comfortable, with friendly and welcoming staff. They went out of their way to provide early breakfasts. Good food, and a nice bar with decent beer.

We were not staying in the hotel but visited the restaurant twice in the week we were on holiday nearby.
The food is freshly prepared and nicely served. The portions are generous and taste delicious.
The staff, owners and locals who frequent the bar are all very friendly and welcoming.
This is easily the best restaurant in this area.

The rooms are nice and large, comfortable and welcoming. Ours had a 5' bed. The only negative was the rather insipid shower.

Real ale in the bar and the food was very good - try the home-made Gravadlax. Breakfast was really excellent, I've had few better. Friendly and unfussy service. Nice grounds and location. The dining room could do with a makeover - awkward 1960s style tables.
