We stayed 3 nights and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Jan and John are really friendly .There's a lovely sitting area and a conservatory for guests . They even have Sky Sports. The house is immaculate and in a quiet location . Breakfast is perfect.The attention to detail is amazing.

If you're going to Orkney, then stay here! It is a guarantee of a wonderful stay. You feel home right away. I enjoyed my stay very much, and will happily return and stay there the next time, I'm visiting the Orkney islands.

My husband and I did quite a bit of traveling through the Scottish Highlands and also Orkney, staying at many different places, mostly bed and breakfasts. From the very first exchange of emails, Jan was so helpful and welcoming. When we arrived at Holland House, it was in the rain and we couldn't quite find it at first - then I said to my husband, "is that a US flag flying down that street??" - It sure was! Jan had put out a US flag to welcome us and I thought it was so nice. Holland House is beautiful and is the only place we stayed where it felt like a HOME, comfortable and cozy and warm. So many other B&B's feel so institutional, but Holland House is warm and luxurious and you truly feel invited into someone's home. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated, airy, nicely decorated - the bathrooms were also spotless with nice touches of local soaps and shampoos. She took amazing care of us, treating us as first-class guests, chatting with us (I asked lots of questions about Scotland/Orkney and she was so interesting to talk with) and making us feel very comfortable and looked after. She pointed us to some great sightseeing and some amazing places to eat that we wouldn't have found otherwise. Breakfast was fantastic - afternoon tea was great as well and it was so nice to enjoy it by the fire downstairs after a day of sightseeing.
I can't say enough good things about our stay with Jan. I told her we'd be back to stay with her again (we loved Orkney!) and I really meant it! The only downside to staying with her is that every OTHER place we stayed on our trip completely paled in comparison!

You cannot go wrong by booking into one of the lovely rooms at Holland House in Orkney. My husband and I completely enjoyed our stay there in June. We had a huge room and wonderful bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous with homemade jams, lots of fruit, cereals and fully cooked meal to order. Our hostess Jan was warm, welcoming and extremely helpful - everything one wants as a visitor! Loved the wifi too. I urge you make Holland House your home whilst in Orkney!!
