Holland House was wonderful. Jan was a gracious and generous host. The food was marvellous and nothing was too much trouble, including doing my washing and greeting me whenever i returned. I cannot recommend Holland House highly enough. It is truly a 'home away from home'.

We stayed five nights. The accommodation is lovely, the food excellent, and Jan and John are superb hosts. They know just how to combine a relaxed and friendly approach with a flawless standard, and really go the extra mile to help. The location is good, too - handy for all the main sights on Mainland and for ferries to other islands. We shall return.

We stayed at the Holland House for three days and were delighted! The central location is ideal, with all major attractions only 15 minutes away by car. At the same time, we loved the tranquility of the country setting, with a beautiful garden and farms across the lane. You will struggle to find a B&B anywhere with more attention to detail, or greater hospitality and warmth. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, including the common rooms, where a warm fire and a cuppa tea or a dram of whiskey are offered to warm you at the end of a windy day of sightseeing. Breakfast is excellent, with more variety in the menu than any Scottish B&B we've visited. Do not miss the fascinating Orkney Islands and do stay at Holland House!

No matter how hard the wind is blowing or the rain falling on Orkney, the sun is always shining in Holland House. These weary travelers were first made to feel at home by the sight of the Stars and Stripes flying above the leafy oasis that is the walled garden of Jan and John's lovely B&B. An 18th. century portrait of the orginal resident of this former manse smiles down upon vistors as they enter the immaculate home. The gracious Jan is quick to light the fire in the book-filled parlour and to provide tea or a wee dram to warm guests inside and out. Our ensuite room was spacious and well appointed, including hair-dryer, TV (which we didn't watch), coffee, tea, and home-made biscuits. Luxurious Orkney bath salts, soap, and hair products helped to make the large bathroom a haven in itself. Each morning we were provided with a full and delicous breakfast and the pleasure of Jan's delightful conversation and helpful suggestions for making the most of out tour of this heavenly island. We highly recommend Holland House and hope to return again some day.
