Stayed for one night to break journey, hotel looked like it had been recently refurbished,very clean, very friendly staff worth thinking about to break a long journey just off the motorway so very handy. Good value for the price, have stayed a few times over the years and would stay again.

we had a 2 night stay at this hotel that has just what you need at an extremely good price!!!! room was fine, slept well, sofa bed adequate, breakfast just what we needed, staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and looked after us very well - would definately stay again and would recommend to others! cant find any fault with this hotel --- toby carvery next door was not good - service poor, would not have eaten from the carvery and we were asked to leave by 10pm because my 9 year old daughter was with us - i have never been asked that in any restaurant before and i am not sure it is legal!!! we ate in the hotel on our 2nd night and the food was lovely, plenty of it and a good price

Well myself my 8 month pregnant wife and one year old son just stayed here late January 2012.
Check in is usually a breeze at the express holiday inn, however we arrived at 250pm only ten mins before the 3pm check inn however we were still waiting till 330 to get checked in which was a bit of a pain as the room was still being cleaned.

We were allocated room 18 which was a smoking room. Certainly didnt ask for a smoking room but thought that will be fine since Silly me thought the rules in the UK now said you cant smoke in hotels etc etc. Sadly I was wrong in this !!! but wrongly told by the receptionist that noone was allowed smoking in the rooms but then the next morning was told by another receptionists the rooms could still be used for smoking in.

The hotel itself is a bit tired for a holiday inn express however its a good hotel if you want to stay close to the M&D's theme park. The breakfast was also quite nice with it being the usual self service.
Sadly the biggest issue was the fact they had put us in a smoking room which was had a very overwhelming smell to it. We asked reception for a swap but nothing was available.
I just dont get why they checked myself my pregnant wife and toddler into a smoking room !!
The smell made my wife so unwell that she ended up going to the car at 4am just to get out for an hour !! so very unimpressed.

Overall if we had been put in a non smoking room the night would of been very different but sadly was ruined by this.

Whenever I visit Glasgow or surrounding area's I use this hotel.
