Stopped 2 nights the first was spent listening to doors banging at midnight and the second night was spent listening to people shouting and running between rooms at 1am. After complaining in the morning was informed the noise was from hotel owners friends who were stopping! I booked out a week early. If you want a good nights sleep this may not be the place for you!

On the plus side this hotel is clean and the rooms are large but that is where the positives end.
The decoration does not appear to have been upgraded since the 1970s including the avocado coloured bathroom suite. The bed was uncomfortable and the breakfast was edible but not spectacular

Decided to stop off here for lunch in the lounge bar.
This looks like a well established place & is apparently popular with coach parties etc.
We had a two course lunch with drinks for £26 and the quality of food was absolutely fine.
We were the only customers in the lounge over lunch time and it appears that the place comes alive in the evenings when the coaches & others come into town.
However our "average" experience was somewhat ruined by a basic error. This happened when they failed to bring my main course - when asked about this they admitted an error in taking our order. Now remember that we were the only diners in the place at the time - so you could argue that customer satisfaction over lunchtime was 0%!
They did of course apologise but really!!
Conclusion - Our experience was probably a one off - but I was not greatly impressed.
went on coach trip for 4 nights, the room we were given was very very dated and grubby old fashioned and broken furniture the t v hardly worked as it was so old the remote didnt work either blankets, no duvet hardly acceptible in this day and age the room was very small you could hardly move. the bathroom was a joke the water pressure was very poor plus no bath only a very tiny shower tray and shower curtain which didnt fit so what water we did get went on the floor. breakfast was very poor an not a lot of it also only tea no coffee.the evening meal was slightly better but small portions . also in the room there was tea bags sitting on a dusty shelf and no complimentary biscuits.bar prices were were high and not a lot of choiceof beer or lager, we decided to go out every night into town as we were cheaper getting a taxi than paying these prices and the bar closed at 11p.m.

Hotel with 'British' workers (all Scottish). Excellent staff.
Food well cooked and tasty. Full marks
Rooms very comfortable and clean. No mat in the bath. Bring your own!
I wish I was there!
