I have stayed in this hotel twice before and have previously written a positive review. I returned for my third stay to visit family in the area. I had not intended to leave a further review until I read the negative review below and did not hold the same opinions as the OP.

Bath and Shower water in our bathroom were great, no problems.
My room was sound proof / there were no noise issues during my stay.
I did not find the room to be cold, infact we had the windows open all night.
The internet is wireless and worked fine, no signal or connection problems in room or bar.
I would not describe the food or drinks as overpriced, this is a nice hotel, in the highlands, it is priced appropriately at the price you expect to pay. There are various other places for refreshments within 5 minutes walk for anyone who like to leave the hotel.

The staff I met were friendly, professional and courteous.

My husband and I have just come home from a fantastic holiday celebrating our 20yrs Wedding Anniversary in Bonnie Scotland . I can honestly say that the Ramnee Hotel in Forres actually made our stay so special ! The Room was beautiful overlooking a lovely garden ,the food was Superb ! out of this world in fact ! And I can say I have never found staff as friendly and helpful anywhere they were just lovely!!
I know it sounds as though I am on the payrole at the Ramnee but I am writing this from the heart I just loved our stay there and would recommend this hotel to all my friends as long as the Ramnee keeps a room free for us !!! Pam & Mike L

Have stayed twice, although the last time was over a year ago.
Both times the rooms were well furnished and comfortable and the bathrooms clean, although not particularly modern.
Arrived late at night and got a warm welcome from reception who arranged some soup and sandwiches from the kitchen. Didn't make it down for breakfast thought.
Hotel grounds are well kept and its set back from one of the main roads in Forres.
Within walking distance of parks, shops, pubs and restuarants.
I'd happily stay again if I was in the area, It's not cheap though and I've only booked in the past because I've taken advantage of 'special offers' / reduced rates from the normal tariff.
