We knew the place was being taken over by someone from the old owners but they forgot to tell us it was also being renamed!
It took us about half an hour to locate. On arrival we were concerned by the messy appearance of the place. Eventually we managed to find Jackie who is managing the place for the owners. Her greeting was very homely she showed us to our room which was adequate for the two nights we stayed the view was terrific.It turned out there was only one other couple staying as the place had only reopened the day before we arrived,probably people gave up as they couldn't find it!
The breakfast was good but we probably wouldn't stay again,even 'though Jacki was a gem, as the price has increased to £90 a night double and there are better places available for the same cost. They only charged us the price we had agreed with the old owner by the way.

Confusingly The Argentine House is run by a
Swiss gentleman and his Indonesian wife dedicated
to making you comfortable and feel welcome. My
wife and I with an eight year old daughter spent a
long weekend at this seaside guest house and
felt we could have happily spent a fortnight. The
views are stunning, the Victorian house totally
charming with a grand staircase up to a gallery
leading to the bedrooms. It is a very long time
since we have experienced such a comfortable
hotel stay, and I recommend it to you! Breakfast
is in the Swiss style, such a change from greasy
Scottish offerings. There are very good walks inland,
and to the south of the island, an adequate bus
service, exceptional local restaurants, shops
and bakery, and of course the seashore.

We really liked this B&B Guest House. First, the room we were in had tremendous views over the Clyde and was very well equipped. They even have a TFT-TV and an alarm-clock with an integrated CD-player! Then, the breakfast: a large buffet with all your heart can enjoy, really healthy. Over 20 loose teas to choose from, every morning a freshly cut fruit salad, youghurt, cheeses, cold meats and lots of Arran jams and marmelades, various breads as well. And the best: no smell of the fatty fully cooked. The owners are a lovely Swiss couple who professionally understand how to make guests feel at home. We really like going back there.
