“Warm welcome, unsurpassable views, high level of comfort”

5 nights spent here for walking the Arran Coastal Path. Lovely comfortable guest lounge overlooking panoramic view of Holy Isle. Convenient guest fridge for storing wine, etc. with glasses, icebox, etc provided. Everything extremely comfortable and welcoming hosts more than happy to dry sodden hiking gear and provide not one but two early morning breakfasts due to disruption of ferries because of extreme bad weather conditions. Would strongly recommend - make sure you ask for sea-facing room if available!

Room Tip: Ask for sea-facing room!

“Lilybank - The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

My wife and I stayed at Lilybank for three nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were met by Colin on arrival and given a tour of the house. Our case was taken to our room for us and we were made very welcome. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean as was the toilet/shower room. The bed was very comfortable and gave good support to my wife's delicate back. The room was warm and extra covers were available. We had a lovely view from our window of the shoreline and Holy Island and although the road passes the front of the guest house, it isn't a problem as all traffic stops in the late evening until morning. There are nice eating/drinking facilities within easy walking distance of Lilybank and the village is a delight to walk through.
Breakfast was a combination of lovely food and a good natter with mine host.
To sum up, Lilybank is a great guest house and if we visit Arran again, Lilybank will be where we stay.

“One of the best B&B's in Arran”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

We can't praise this B&B enough, from the welcome from Colin & June, to the cleanliness and the location, also breakfast first class! Superb views over to Holy Isle and the peace and quiet of Lamlash.

“Great.....but!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

We stayed at Lilybank for two nights and it was a very pleasant stay......but......there were some issues that need to be mentioned. Firstly, the bathroom did not have enough shelving/ledges to put a soapbag. We had to put ours on the toilet or floor, which was not satisfactory. There was clearly enough wall space to fit more shelving.
The second issue, was the bed. I woke up at least 3 times a night with a raging backache due to a relatively thinnish mattress. The bed was clean though and there was extra bedding if you needed it. The room was of a good size and had amazing views. But, the room was in need of a 'revamp' with the painting/decorating. It looked a bit tired.
The breakfast was lovely, but there was a definite lack of conversation. It was a matter of going in, ordering, eating and leaving. There was no two-way banter at all.
Colin, did however, make us very welcome and gave us a guided tour and also helped with our luggage.
There is adequate parking at the rear, but the access is a little tight, so be careful when entering the driveway. Give yourself plenty of room to 'swing' in.
I would give Lilybank a good 3 stars.
