“We loved this Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We were staying in self catering accommodation during our long weekend in Arran in September 2011, but firstly came to this hotel for drinks and snacks and decided to have our evening meal there on our last evening. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 teenage girls. All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The meal was very good, and the girls (who at times can be fussy) thoroughly enjoyed their meal and evening. We asked if we could have a look inside any of the rooms from the point of view of staying there on a future occassion, again the staff were very willing to let us see the rooms - and no wonder, they were really lovely rooms, just newly renovated, modern but classy and of course fabulous views over Lamlash Bay. We will definitely be back and would be delighted to stay at this hotel in this location.

“One word... PERFECT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed for 4 nights over New Year. A truly wonderful place. The staff, the room, the log fires, the food, the location - all utterly fabulous. The little touchs made it extra special too - fab toiletries, shortbread cookies replenished daily - too many to mention here. The hosts are friendly and accommodating and clearly enjoy what they do - they have really got it very right. It's calm, relaxing, serene and a generally pleasant place to be. It felt like coming home after long walks (in the continual Arran rain!) and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Yes it is expensive but my philosophy is that you get what you pay for - and you certainly do here. No complaints at all. And might I add the photos don't do it enough justice - the atmosphere is just so lovely. We will be back I hope - but then we didn't want to leave :o)

Room Tip: We didn't have a room with much of a view so ask for one overlooking the gardens and Lamlash vil...

“Very happy stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

The view from our bedroom was picture-postcard across the bay to the Holy Isle. The bedroom (with an en-suite shower room) was spacious, clean and warm with plentiful supply of teas and coffee and hot choolate and we appreciated the home-made shortbread supplied fresh each day. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble despite the hotel being busy with its Christmas-tree lighting and festivities. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and hot (I hate lukewarm food!). We ate in the restaurant each night: the menu was fairly small but enough variety to eat something different each time and the food was freshly cooked and well-presented. The overall ambience was efficient yet relaxed; professional yet supremely welcoming. This was our first trip to Arran and we shall definitely be returning to the Glenisle.

Room Tip: All the rooms have good views but the ones at the front of the hotel are truly spectacular.

“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Enjoyed a lovely 5 night stay at this hotel. Good situation with lovely views. Good outside patio area for a coffee or drink overlooking the Holy Isle. En suite bedrooms good-clean fresh decor-good bed etc with tea/coffee making available in room. Breakfast good with friendly service and evening meals should be tried. Would certainly return so that alone is a recommendation.
Some people did say it was expensive and cheaper accommodation is available in Lamlash
depends what you are looking for-for me it was money well spent. Well done The Glenisle!

“Delightful place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Very friendly and efficient staff, delightful room, and really yummy dinner. Also liked the porridge with cream and whisky at breakfast. I would certainly return here and would recommend it to my friends. Probably more suited to adults than folk with kids.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have the sea view
