“Needs Updating”

We have stayed at this hotel twice before, the last time being in 2009. Since then, the hotel seems to have gone downhill. Our room looked very dated, cold tap at wash basin in bathroom did not work. We did have someone coming round twice but it was still broken when we left. Breakfast is ok but quality is not the same as it used to be. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night and found that the number of dishes had drastically been reduced to about five starters, five mains and five desserts. The salmon came with mussels, which was not stated on the menu and which we did not want.
Staff are generally very helpful and try their best but I cannot say that I was very impressed with our visit.
We won't be going back any time soon and would suggest like quite a few others on here, for the hotel management to update all of the hotel.
It is a shame as we used to enjoy coming here and the location is good. Especially sitting in the breakfast room overlooking the sea on a sunny day cannot be beaten.

“New Year's Eve Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

After an exceptional New Year's Eve party last year we followed up with the same again this year. There were 13 of us including 2 children and without exception we all agree that the reception, service and food quality were all truely outstanding. We had a three course meal and mince pies to finish all served up by superbly charming and efficient staff managed by Craig and Graham. The disc jockey covered the night with enthusiasm and was full of life. I have heard of not so good reports of this establishment in the passed but can honestly say that it is by far the best deal in central Scotland for Hogmanay. Can't wait for next year !!

Room Tip: We did not stay the night but the hotel has wonderful views of the Forth Bridges

“A pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I have just return after staying at this hotel for a conference from 18th -20th November. The staff at this hotel are without exception the most attentive and friendliest I have ever came across, nothing is any trouble, always smiling and engaging with customers. This hotel has stunning views and I can only agree with other reviews. The room was lovely large and clean with a lovely comfy bed and welcome power shower to fresh in the morning. The food was excellent.

Thank you one and all for a very pleasant stay.
