We decided to stay in Aberdour at the end of our short tour of Scotland, we had been to Aberdour before but had never stayed at the Forth View. We chose this hotel because it looked to be in a good position and we weren't disappointed.
Such is the position of the Forth View that when we arrived our Sat Nav indicated that we were actually in the water!
Pauline is a lovely hostess and together with her gorgeous dog Skye, we were made to feel very welcome. We arrived early and had the pick of the rooms and we chose the one looking directly out over the Firth of Forth and it had the most fabulous bathroom which was huge and looked to be newly appointed. For all that, the rooms are basic but so large and with such good views, who wants luxury!
Breakfast was lovely, all cooked to order and we enjoyed it looking out over the Forth.
Aberdour Train Station is a 10 minute walk and we got the train into Edinburgh and spent a lovely day taking in all the sights. The tour bus is well recommended to get your bearings and we actually did two circuits. We came across a big German Market which sold amazing food, drinks and nik naks and as for the shops, what can I say.... Towards the end of the day the sun shone, we found a lovely pub to have our tea and we headed back to Aberdour.
We were glad we chose this hotel and would stay there again.
Aberdour is a pretty, quaint, coastal village but with it being less than 30 mins from Edinburgh City Centre it's a winning combination!
