Room fine, great evening meals with really helpful, efficient and friendly evening staff, and I didn't even mind the lack of parking, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, oh dear, breakfast time! In order for this hotel to be very good, breakfasts need to get into 21st century. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, healthy interesting bread, local tasty preserves - sounds good, doesn't it? But no, we were offered tinned grapefruit segments. no yoghurt at all, toast made from thin sliced bread, and all preserves in little mass-produced cartons. The actual cooked breakfast was fine, but we were in Scotland - where was the porridge? The breakfast experience was also made less enjoyable by the fact that the one member of staff on duty, who was also expected, at the same time, to deal with any guests wishing to check out, seemed to be extremely stressed all the time - especially one morning when all the guests had the audacity to come down to breakfast at the same time - and shared her stress with us. So ........ potentially a great little hotel, but please give some more thought to breakfasts.
