The room was generally tatty, and not particularly clean, but my biggest issue was no hot water. At all. This really is one of my worst nightmares after a long day travelling that there was nothing but ice-meltwater to freshen up in. Not the night we arrived, nor the morning after. And we had a wedding to go to.
Along with the other couple we travelled with, we abandoned this place before breakfast and sought refuge at Pinegrove Lodge (5* - and cheaper!!) Called Rochelle to explain, and I got the impression that she was used to this sort of thing. Shame, as from the outside it is a beautiful old building. Not good enough.
