“A night away close to home”

Went for the one night "pamper package".
The check-in process was seamless friendly and efficient.
Room quality was excellent; plenty of space, very clean with quality fixtures and fittings.
The seven course tasting meal in the Riverside restaurant was a worthwhile "upgrade" combining the finest local ingredients with a modern twist , the emphasis being balanced between look and flavour. The service was unobtrusive, informed and very congenial striking a perfect balance with the food.
An excellent night sleep was had with no external noise. The room did get very hot during the night so the complimentary water was welcome and it was nice to be able to open a window.
Breakfast was another highlight unsurpassed in terms of selection and quality, catering for every taste.
We both enjoyed the massage which was invigorating and firm and the spa was very pleasant. The only down side was that there are unpgrade works currently underway which did impact in terms of noise and unsightly views of parts of the hotel [these did not start until circa 9am) and it is understandable that the hotel strives to improve its facilities. The impact was tangible but not off putting.
Every member of staff we met was welcoming friendly and helpful.
As a destination in itself the Galgorm resort is worth a journey for a one or two night stay, its distance from urban areas adds to the tranquility and there are plenty of activities on site and nearby.

My partner and i stayed here now on 2 separate occasions. Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds and views. One occasion we stayed in the Galgorm Cottage which is fully serviced and includes meals, this was beautiful, right on the river with your own private garden, beautiful sitting room, bedroom and old fashioned bathroom and a small kitchen for making tea, toast and there was a microwave but our food was include in the hotel anyway, on the second occasion we stayed in a junior suite which was lovely but we much prefered the cottage, lovely for a couple wanting a romantic break. The breakfasts were excellent and we had a meal in the River Room which was outstanding but not alot of choice if your not a varied eater, Gillies has a brilliant menu. We also had a spa package booked which included the use of the parisian suite, this include big bubble baths, strawberries and champagne and full body massages............completely beautifully and thoroughly recommend, only one complaint on our second stay in the junior suite we had booked the romantic weekend which included a rose petal turn down, this wasnt done despite my checking twice (as it was a surprise for my partner) on returning to the ropom and finding this not done, i complained and we were given a complimentary cocktail and on going back to the room this was completed. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting

Room Tip: The Galgorm Cottage is outstanding

“I adore this hotel!!”

Last year my boyfriend treated me to a spa break in Galgorm for my birthday. At the time I had an absolute ball and really could not speak highly enough of both the hotel and the staff. So we decided to come back again this year. This time we opted for the dining package which involves a 5 course meal in the river room and over night accomodation, with breakfast the next morning. I was expecting a lot as the standard of the hotel was so great the year before, and I was not dissapointed. Once again the thermal spa was brilliant. Not too crowded and plenty to do. Even though there were renovations going on at the time, the spa was still very relaxing and there was really very little dispurtion. Dinner was just out of this world. It was supposed to be a five course meal, well we counted as the plates kept coming and we had 8!! All included with the dinner package. The waiters were brilliant and so attentive. Also the food was prompt and we were never left without a plate of food in front of us. The portions were just perfect size. Large enough that we were full but not so big that you felt uncomfortable. I really cannot recommend this hotel enough. We will definately be going back next year.

Room Tip: Get a river view. Beautiful!

“First Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Have to say, that my husband and I spent one day and night here and although it was expensive - it was SUPERB!!!! Friendly and attentive staff. The hotel and rooms just oozzed withcomfort from luxourious towels, mattresses, robes, linen napkins etc The meal in Gillies in the evening was mouthwatering. The service was really quick. There was standing room only left in the bar so we retired to the lounge area to sit on sofa by a real open fire and listened to the guy playing the piano in the restaurant. The Spa was a wonderful experience. Fantastic to experience such tranquility so close to home.

“lovely in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

we stayed at the galgorm as a treat after christmas, we had one night stay with dinner in the river room. we were welcomed professionally and very friendly at reception and as our room was not yet ready we didnt mind as we were starving and went for lunch in gillies bar and it was beautiful. After shown to our room we went for a walk and then came back and spent most of the afternoon in the pool and sauna and hot tub. Our meal later was one of the best meals i have ever had and the staff were very plesent and made our night in the river room very enjoyable. The guy in the bar on guiter was great, a great end to a great evening. Us three girls had a brillant night at the galgorm and heres hoping our other halves treat us there again soon.....
