Went for the one night "pamper package".
The check-in process was seamless friendly and efficient.
Room quality was excellent; plenty of space, very clean with quality fixtures and fittings.
The seven course tasting meal in the Riverside restaurant was a worthwhile "upgrade" combining the finest local ingredients with a modern twist , the emphasis being balanced between look and flavour. The service was unobtrusive, informed and very congenial striking a perfect balance with the food.
An excellent night sleep was had with no external noise. The room did get very hot during the night so the complimentary water was welcome and it was nice to be able to open a window.
Breakfast was another highlight unsurpassed in terms of selection and quality, catering for every taste.
We both enjoyed the massage which was invigorating and firm and the spa was very pleasant. The only down side was that there are unpgrade works currently underway which did impact in terms of noise and unsightly views of parts of the hotel [these did not start until circa 9am) and it is understandable that the hotel strives to improve its facilities. The impact was tangible but not off putting.
Every member of staff we met was welcoming friendly and helpful.
As a destination in itself the Galgorm resort is worth a journey for a one or two night stay, its distance from urban areas adds to the tranquility and there are plenty of activities on site and nearby.
