Stayed here overnight for two nights, a week apart. First night the owner was on holiday, but left the running of the house in the very capable hands of her daughter in law, who's breakfast was just perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable, so much so we looked forward to returning on our way back up north a week later.
They are dog friendly, and are extremely good value for money at £25 pppn, including full English breakfast.
The only problem we had was the shower rail fell off of the wall when switched shower on - this had clearly been broken before as bits were missing - not fixed and put back in place. Upon reporting, it was promptly sorted, but only by trying to fix the bracket back on the wall with toilet paper....???? This is the only reason why i haven't given 5 star.
However on our return for the second night we were put in i think the best room, and had no problems.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family, and have taken a business card to rebook in future when re-visiting friends.

Despite booking in April 2011 and phoning back to confirm the booking, we were told on the day - when phoning to confirm check-in time - that there was apparently "no record of our booking". We were hundreds of miles from home. The owner was less than helpful. She gave us a number for another B&B (fully booked).

Can't comment on rooms, cleanliness, breakfast or any of that, as we never got over the threshold.

We were disgusted.

There appear to be other guest houses in Wimborne with higher ratings than Gordon House, but this is hard for me to believe. Gordon House is certainly one of the best guest houses I have stayed in over the past 20 years. The thing that really stuck out for me was the absense of ANY unpleasant surprises. Everything was clean, everyone was friendly and polite (especially the owner), and everything was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended and good value for money.

We stayed here 5 times throughout the summer as we had to do some repeat ecological surveys in the area. We can't praise it enough, comfortable, clean, cosy, really good breakfast and the people who run it are lovely, can't do enough for you. Brilliant, would definitely recommend it.
