What a place. Tucked away up a winding driveway is a 'not so little' hidden treasure in the Dorset countryside. Recommended to me by other friends we were immediately blown away by the service which I can only describe as 'proper old school', the likes of which I've not experienced before - anywhere! They certainly have some wacky décor, but this all just added the the immense enjoyment of the whole experience. We stayed for one night in a huge but comfortable bedroom with an equally impressive and huge en-suite bathroom.
Being a nature lover I couldn't help but be seduced by the grounds. Extensive and private, we enjoyed cooling our feet in a babbling brook (and losing a flip flop down stream) and watching the ducklings on the pond. After dinner we were mesmerised by the bats, flying so close you could hear them.
Breakfast - well - it's just what you hope for; full English, home made muesli and house specials.
Recommended? Highly. Relaxing? Definitely. Return visit? Without question.
