“Top rate service and facilities”

Super B&B with large rooms and very comfortable. With an excellent breakfast it is comparable to any small 4-star hotel, and better than most 3-star hotels..
Don't be put off by the location, which has a 1960s block of flats in front of it, You are just two minutes walk from the harbour and five from the beach.
The couple also have a super tearooms on the other side of town...
West Bay is a quirky place with plenty of lovely walks along the Jurassic Coast.

“Another lovely stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

I recently stayed here again and it was every bit as good as last time! Such a warm welcome from Sue and Peter and lots of home comforts.
The house is beautifully kept, fresh, spotlessly clean and really cosy - a place where you feel you can relax. You are sure to get a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed and quiet location.
I fail to understand the previous reviewers comments- my standards are high and there was no evidence of any of the points raised on either of the occassions i stayed.
What people have to understand is that you are staying in someones house, not a boutique hotel ! If that is the experience you want, you will have to pay 5 times as much and i can assure you ,it won't have the same homely friendly feel.
Beachcroft is a gem and extremely good value for money. Keep up the good work Sue and Peter, you are very much appreciated !

“Sadly disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

After reading all the reviews on trip advisor, we were really disappointed. The place is impossible to find unless you are 'in the know' and we had to ring up and be guided in. It's tucked away in a less than pleasant location and the house smelled very stale as we arrived and could have done with a good airing. The welcome was luke warm and although the room was very clean, it was just average. We couldn't have a proper shower that evening as the showerhead was so blocked with limescale that barely any water came out - no exaggeration. We tried to find someone to borrow some Viakal or something, but there was no-one about to help. We resorted to using the needle from the sewing kit and sat poking each hole out when we got home after our evening out - less than ideal. Shower was still difficult, but much improved from the earlier trickle. The breakfast was nice, although way too big. I am guessing this is their USP, but it seems a bit of waste as it's simply too much, even for the hungriest of men. It would be better to make the portion size normal, but have slightly better quality ingredients to give it that wow factor. In short, it gave us a place to lay our heads, but we consider it over-priced for what you get and wouldn't return.

“Warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Fantastic breakfast, spotless room, spacious and well appointed bathroom. Very friendly atmosphere from both hosts and good recommendations for local food in the evening. One of the best B&Bs that we've stayed at.

“Would go back tomorrow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011 via mobile

Beachcroft is the ideal B&B for exploring West Bay and beyond. The location is ideal, literally yards from the harbour and village with its numerous pubs (The West Bay Inn being especially good), the beaches, walks etc.
The room was of an exceptional standard, kept immaculately clean with a huge bed and en suite shower (with separate toilet).
The owners, Sue and Peter, made my girlfriend and I feel welcome from the moment we arrived and were extremely helpful (give their tea rooms in the village a go too - some of the best scones I've had!).
And finally, the breakfast! Easily the best I've had from any B&B. Enough said!
We will definitely be back and I have recommended Beachcroft to family the moment we got home!
