“Weekend retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My wife and I have been to the Maltsters Arms a number of times and just had a drink and a meal, This time we decided to have a weekend break. Booking the room was no problem, The young man taking the booking was very helpful and suggested Pepes room due to my wife being on crutches, he said the room provided more space to move arround. Pepes turned out to be a selfcontained flat and was ideal for our needs. The only draw back was the stairs within the accommobation building and the bar/ restaurant but we knew about hem and went prepared. On our arrival The welcome was good and friendly The room was comfortable but needed a light bulb and this was soon rectified. The food was very good, hot, tasty. good portions and good service Even in winter the setting alongside Bow Creek was beautiful. All in all a very good stay. The place is now being renovated and we would love to see it and stay when it is finished about Easter time

Room Tip: Just let your needs be know and ask

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

A party of eight of us booked for New Years Eve, popped in the day before for a quick drink and were very welcomed. Alison even managed to get a taxi booked for us for the next evening (which saved us a very long walk back to our cottage) but had said if we couldnt get one she would try and arrange a lift for us!. The Blitz evening exceeded all of our expectations, everyone had made the effort and looked fab in 1940's style, the pub looked fantastic and the live singer was excellent. The waiting staff were friendly and fun but stars of the night were the chef's! My husband is a chef and it takes a lot to impress him - but he was 'wowed', as we all were with the inventive menu and the quality of the food. Cava on arrival and five delicious courses. It was the best fillet of beef we have ever had, cooked to perfection (medium rare) no mean feat when catering for over 100 people. The evening was rounded off with a spectacular fire work display ....... and all this for just £50 per head ......... thank you Alison, George & Staff for making it such a special evening, we will be back!

“Can't recommend the Maltsters Arms highly enough”

For George, Alison and their brilliant team, nothing is too much trouble. We were there for an epic new year party for which the team worked tirelessly to put on a 1940’s blitz theme complete with superb 4 course supper, fireworks and live music for over 100 people.

The location on the beautiful Bow Creek along with such great hospitality makes for a cracking place to stay-enjoy!

“Beautiful location with such a fun atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Our 2nd visit this year exceeded expectation. We loved our stay in summer but even in winter this pub has such a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and the evenings are great fun over fantastic food and wine. We will be returning as soon as possible!

“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I visited the beautiful Maltsters Arms this weekend- to celebrate New Years Eve, a 'Blitz Party' was thrown and it was just Fantastic.

The Landlord and Lady are so welcoming- and really pulled out all the stops to throw an incredible evening.

We also dined at the pub on New Years Day, and despite it being very busy- the food, service and staff were again, second to none.

I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for a get away in a beautiful setting- the b&b service is also superb!
Can't wait to go back and visit in the summer....!
