I have visited several times - sometimes with my wife who is rather hard to please - we both love this hotel because of its warm welcome, fantastic views - also close to Lyme Regis a great favourite of ours.The food is always excellent and the rooms attractive with very nice bathrooms ( we have only been in the main hotel)
Its a great place for walkers - especially if you have a dog as the hotel welcomes them.

At first sight Fairwater Head Hotel looks lovely, has good views and rooms that seem reasonable if a little tired and lacking in comfort. Still at £70 a night not something one can complain about. Then you meet the owner - Basil Fawlty is indeed alive and well and in charge of the Fairwater Head Hotel. We stayed 3 nights and were amazed at his rudeness. At first I thought it was a comedy act but it quickly became apparent that this wasn't the case. The saving grace is that he's not there all the time, his other staff are much more what one would expect.

So if you loved the series and want to feel what it might have been like as a guest - go and enjoy the experience, if not avoid this hotel.

Had a weekend away in Lyme Regis and got a great room only deal at 49 pounds per night.

Room was clean the staff were very helpful and the hotel has good facilities including a library and wireless

You would need a car to get to it and it has good parking.
