“Great location, great staff and management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012 via mobile

Well myself and brother were in exmouth on business for 4 days, we arrived Sunday afternoon and requested to watch the Irish welsh match, bar was closing but the manager got is a few pts and setup the tv so we could watch , lovely place, I'd imagine great in the summer, but as nice this week , our room was fine, had everything we needed, slightly dated but this adds to the charm!, rooms were bursting with heat , great as it was on average 1 degree by day, easier to cool a place down if needed rather than heat it up,they offered great advice about where to eat and booked ahead for us, great pool indoors , not busy early so all was good, gets my recommendation!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful weekend at the Devoncourt, when we celebrated her birthday.

From the moment we arrived, we were met with smiles and courtesy from Mel the receptionist. She explained where everything was, including the brilliant gym facilities and heated indoor pool. To gain entry you needed a 2 digit code number which was different each day, which you obtained from reception.

We paid a bit extra for a suite as it was a special occasion and we were not disappointed. The sea view from the lounge was amazing. The suite had two bedrooms, lounge, kitchenette and bathroom with a large tub and overbath shower.

We took full advantage of the facilities available including the gym, pool, whirlpool and steam room, all included in the price. They also had a solarium which was available for a small fee.

We stayed on a B&B basis and bought our evening meals. The breakfast and evening meals we had were buffet style, as much as you wanted, absolutely delicious and good value for money.

All the hotel and restaurant staff were so friendly and efficient.

To sum up, we loved the Devoncourt and we will certainly stay again. Book with confidence!

Room Tip: We had a second floor suite to the rear of the hotel, which faced the sea.

“home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

After reading mixed reviews we didn't know what to expect for our one night stay, however the helpful staff arranged a continental breakfast for five of us at 7am and booked a taxi for our departure at 8am the following day.The 2 bedroomed suite was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We enjoyed both the swimming pool facilities and relaxing in the jaccuzzi before going to bed,the beds were comfortable and the toiletries provided in the bathroom were most welcome. The range of food offered for breakfast was more than adequate and kept us going until dinnertime, and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble for ALL the staff, who went out of their way to be helpful We will definately be coming back to stay again, and hope next time it will be for a holiday instead of just one night.

“Fantastic service and excellent staff”

To be honest the room was 'dated' - strip lighting, old style furniture and no 'goodies' in the bathroom.
But, that aside, it was excellent value, all the staff I encountered could not do enough for you without being 'in your face' the room was a good size and clean. The food was well priced and of a good standard and the WIFI (which was free) worked well.
Handy location, easy parking, would stay again, but needs to modernise to get top marks.
