Thank you Richard, Wendy and family for another fabulous weekend at the Staghunters. It has become an annual trip for our group of friends and dogs from Cornwall and London - I think this was our sixth visit together though some of our party have been coming for longer. As usual the hospitality and food was fabulous - its difficult to know what to choose from the menu as I always want everything! There is always a warm welcome in the bar where we congregate when we aren't walking in the beautiful countryside around Brendon. This year the weather was wonderful - an added bonus. We also had balcony rooms with a fantastic view across the gardens and countryside beyond. We always meet interesting and friendly people amongst the other guests at the Staghunters and this year was no exception. We all lead busy and stressful lives in the real world and our annual long weekend at the Staghunters is such a stress-buster. We are back in March and can't wait - I think we may have to make it two trips a year!

We have stayed many times at the "Stag", a really relaxing place, our room (6) overlooking beautiful, gardens from our own balcony.Comfy beds, ensuite lovely . after lunch sat in the beer garden beside the river. Evening meal as good as ever, and a very well stocked bar ,All in all another fine stay Thanks .See you soon

Back to the Staghunters for a late summer break. On the first night it was great to me two couples we had met there last year and later that evening another couple from last year turned up with their 2 dogs. I went out for a cigarette and got talking to a woman who, with her party, visited at least twice a year. Amazingly, the next night, two more couples turned up who had also been there last year. So, on our second night, nearly all in the bar were returning guest and not just returning for the second time.

I have written about the hotel and staff on several occasions and the service and quality is still excellent. Food is great value and you will not go hungry.

The hotel is undergoing a services refurbishment adding solar power and air pumps to make it carbon neutral but this will not interfere with your stay.

Thanks to the owners and staff for a great relaxing stay. Your dedication and commitment to providing a first class hotel is greatly appreciated. It seems I am not alone in thinking that this hotel, in an area of outstanding beauty, is just the perfect location for a visit to Exmoor.

I didn't stay at the stag hunters inn but stopped for lunch whilst passing on a walk. The food was excellent (choice from 3 menus plus and specials board) together with superbly kept beer and friendly efficient service made for a very pleasant lunch.
