Stayed during the coldest week of the year. Very comfortable, excellent breakfast, large room with settee and TV. Wifi that worked. Car parking. Plenty of pubs nearby for good evening meals. Splendid.

We stayed for one night at the Golden Lion, and really enjoyed it. Our room was massive, comfortable and simply but well decorated. Brilliant breakfast and charming host. Would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting this pleasant town - all it needs is a good gastro-pub!

- absolutely exemplary; the standard by which ALL hotels and bed and breakfasts should be judged (and I've been to many). A professional standard of hospitality throughout - immaculate bedroom, wonderful small (but important ) touches such as a selection of teas (including peppermint) and real milk in the room! Terrific breakfast with that rare luxury - scrambled eggs which are rich and creamy, locally sourced bread and bacon. Wonderful hosts.............such a shame I couldn't stay longer.

I recently did a wonderful cooking course in Ashburton and had the most fantastic few nights in the Golden Lion House B&B. I could not fault it - everything was perfect. Wonderful hosts, delicious breakfasts and a fantastic room - which was huge and extremely comfortable. Wonderful sofa and big bed - just what I needed after a long day in the kitchen. Bath room was fantastic. Full free Internet access was brilliant too! I cant wait to come back and stay here again. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.
