Over a period of years we have stopped off at the Golden Lion House on our way to visit our daughter. There has always been a good welcome, and having stayed in all the double rooms I can vouch for the good standard, and comfortable beds.

We spent one night at the Golden Lion House recently and had a lovely stay. We would echo many of the nice reviews written previously. The house is lovely, with spacious, airy rooms and nice touches like fresh milk and nice toiletries. The owners were friendly, helpful and made us a fabulous breakfast. We would highly recommend this B+B to anyone wishing to stay in Ashburton; it's also very convenient for the cookery school up the road.

Stayed during the coldest week of the year. Very comfortable, excellent breakfast, large room with settee and TV. Wifi that worked. Car parking. Plenty of pubs nearby for good evening meals. Splendid.

We stayed for one night at the Golden Lion, and really enjoyed it. Our room was massive, comfortable and simply but well decorated. Brilliant breakfast and charming host. Would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting this pleasant town - all it needs is a good gastro-pub!
