“Will definitely return!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Imperial Hotel is quaint and charasmatic. The hotel itself is beautifully located, overlooking the bay, providing walks with breath-taking scenery.
The bedroom was homely and comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was adequately sized and after a long walk, the hot shower was a perfect cure for aching muscles!
The food was exquisite! We did not venture anywhere other than the hotel for our evening meals as we were happy to stay where we were and experience as many of the culinary delights from the menu as we could. Hats off to the chef! Fantastic!!
Staff were wonderful! Upon arrival we were met with the manageress who greeted us with a winning smile and welcoming manner. Throughout our stay, both the manager and the manageress were very approachable, helpful and attentive to our needs. The staff at the Imperial, give the impression of being a 'happy family' of workers. They always had a smile on their face and were happy to have a conversation, making the experience a more pleasant and meaningful one.
Without a doubt, we will be back!

my wife and i had a 8 night stay in sept 2011.on arrival i found the manageress most intimidating as if any questions were too much trouble eg i asked if there was a safe in the room and if not could i use the hotel safe as i was carrying a fair amount of cash.we are not insured for you to use the safe i was curtly told.the room was basic in the extreme and the shower so small i could not turn around in it!we rarely watch tv when on holiday but due to the location of the hotel with no pubs within walking distance we found after having dinner there was little to do so a very poor picture on the set hardly altered the mood i was in.on the plus side the breakfast was good and the staff courteous and the meals were also tasty and plentiful.but the overall view for anyone staying in guernsey i cannot recommend the imperial.

“Never again”

We recently wrote a review on the Imperial Hotel concerning the devastating experience by us in having a Tennerfest meal there. Both the service and the quality of the dishes were poor. In particular, our night out was totally ruined by the intimidating attitude of the person in charge on the night. Her excuse was that it was a Tennerfest meal so what did we expect. Based on our experience, we have vowed that we would never go back to eat in that establishment again.

That review is a true reflection of what actually took place on the night. For some unexplained reason the review has been removed without our knowledge.

This is just a summary to repeat what was confronted by us as dining customers on the occasion. We would be happy to explain further should any reader wish to contact us via Tripadvisor.

“Basic, but great food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Had an overnight stay and a meal in the restaurant. The hotel is very dated, but this adds to its charm. Our room was in need of refurbishment, however the bedding, bathroom was spotless. The price of the hotel rooms reflect their need of updating - however this is a part of the hotel's charm. We have eaten there many times, and the food is really good, and exceptional value, whether dining in the restaurant, or in the bar.

“Excellent Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Not stayed here as my daughter only lives 5 minutes walk away. Went for Sunday lunch on 23rd October. It was excellent, the rare beef was superb,(well done also available) good roasties and yorkshires and lots of lovely fresh veg. Meat and fish starters looked good but had the soup and it was yummy. There was only a choice of beef and cooked ham so perhaps another choice would be good. Didn't have desert as no room but looked good. Very good value for 3 courses but I think it might be good to have a lesser price if you only want 2 courses. Booked for Boxing day and I don't go anywhere a second time unless it is good. The hotel could do with some updating and TLC but it was clean.
