“Perfect,really excellent.Great location,wonderful staff.”

I loved this hotel.
It is in a perfect location, downtown Saint Peter Port, near all the shops, close to the harbour area and near good restaurants.
This is a good place to stay for business and pleasure.
The front desk staff could not be more professional, work related correspondence was handled with discretion and speed.
The hotel has a number of stylish restaurants and they too are good for business and pleasure.
A Spa is available on the 2nd floor and that was stylish and spotless.
The food was reasonably priced and of good quality.
Room 307 is a single room with a view over the smaller island of Sark.

“Not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Room was very noisy and hot. We stayed on Friday and Saturday and the noise from the street was very loud. We needed to open the window becuase the room was so hot but then couldn't sleep due to the screaming and shouting from the street in front of the hotel.

Restaurant was good.

Staff not very professional.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, although I am sorry to hear that you did not have the best of stays. Unfortunately as the hotel is located in such a central position there can be outside noise on weekend nights which is beyond our control. However, many of our bedrooms are situated at the rear of the hotel, and we may have been able to move you for the second night. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our restaurant.

“Central hotel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011 via mobile

Booked the hotel on location and price.

Location is perfect in the middle of town and the price was ok at £80 for a superior room for one night

Room was very dated but clean and in good order

Public areas are pleasant with plenty of comfortable seating.

My only issue was because I was there to work I could only fine one out of 12 wifi spots that let me connect to the internet, meaning we had to sit outside the restaurant, however the staff brought our lunch to where we was sitting so no problem at all.... If I was on holiday I would have been worried about the wifi

Thank you for taking the time to post a review as receiving feedback from our guests helps us to improve our service. We note the comments concerning wifi coverage and have replaced some of the routers which seems to be improving the coverage. We are also happy to hear our staff looked after you well.

“Another excellent stay in an excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Having previously stayed here (and reviewed) I booked two return visits each of 3 nights. On check in both times I was upgraded to the Sausmarez suite. This suited me as it has its own cooking facilities so I could have breakfast early before leaving for work.

The Sausmarez suite isn't so much a room as a self contained flat and is of a very high standard with comfortable settee, large living and dining area, well equipped bathroom with bidet, shower and spa bath. The bed is very large and comfortable providing a good nights sleep.

There was a minor problem with the plumbing in the bathroom but a workaround was put in place within 10 minutes of my reporting to the management and the problem was fixed the next day.

I ate twice in the library bar / carvery and both times the food was very good. Thoroughly recommend the noodles with crab, chilli and coriander. The bar itself was very good value for money with a pint of Carlsberg Export at £3.10.

The gym and sauna area were still clean and well maintained. Credit to the hotel for this as these things often get overlooked.

All the staff I met were excellent, professional and smart.

Best Western as a chain markets itself as "Hotels with personality" this hotel has great personality and has it in spades! I haven't stayed anywhere else in Guernsey and on the basis of these two visits I'm not likley to either.

Room Tip: If you are entitled to an upgrade (as a BW loyalty card holder) then ask you might just be pleasantl...

“Excellent dining in the Conservatory.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Although we didn't stay in the hotel, we ate here for two of our four nights in Guernsey. The Tennerfest (brought in about 11 years ago where hotels and restaurants offer 3 or 4 options for each course at a fixed price of a tenner each) was on. Nowadays the cost has (inevitably) risen and we paid £15 each for food and service of the highest quality. Delicious duck spring rolls and succulent lamb shanks were 2 highlights. If this is the usual food standard it's a must while in St. Peter Port.
