Having previously stayed here (and reviewed) I booked two return visits each of 3 nights. On check in both times I was upgraded to the Sausmarez suite. This suited me as it has its own cooking facilities so I could have breakfast early before leaving for work.
The Sausmarez suite isn't so much a room as a self contained flat and is of a very high standard with comfortable settee, large living and dining area, well equipped bathroom with bidet, shower and spa bath. The bed is very large and comfortable providing a good nights sleep.
There was a minor problem with the plumbing in the bathroom but a workaround was put in place within 10 minutes of my reporting to the management and the problem was fixed the next day.
I ate twice in the library bar / carvery and both times the food was very good. Thoroughly recommend the noodles with crab, chilli and coriander. The bar itself was very good value for money with a pint of Carlsberg Export at £3.10.
The gym and sauna area were still clean and well maintained. Credit to the hotel for this as these things often get overlooked.
All the staff I met were excellent, professional and smart.
Best Western as a chain markets itself as "Hotels with personality" this hotel has great personality and has it in spades! I haven't stayed anywhere else in Guernsey and on the basis of these two visits I'm not likley to either.
