“The staff are so helpful So flexible to our requests”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2011 via mobile

I read up on st martins lodge before we arrived there last week and all I saw was negative comments , hence after my stay there for 6 nights I have to write how happy I was with our stay everything we asked for was done ,even moving breakfast early for us on our last morning . We have a few months work in guernsey and have already re- booked for next week

“Very poor quality. Bad Experience. Bad food. Bad accommodation.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

Although this was booked as part of a seemingly good value package, we were utterly disappointed by the entire experience of this dreadful, dingy hotel. The room was grubby, poorly maintained and very dated. The staff were ill-trained and struggling to meet the simple daily needs of hotel residents (although there were very few of us). The food was appalling - nothing for vegetarians, most other items on the menu unavailable and everything lacking taste and composed of only the cheapest ingredients. Breakfast was a shambles - hair in food, very slow service, not enough bowls, running out of juice/milk etc, it was as if they were taken by surprise! The whole place needs a big revamp and an attitude change. We don't have extremely high expectations, but cleanliness, decent service and acceptable food are not much to ask. Avoid this place!

“Smelly Rooms that need a good clean”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2011

Ok, this is a cheap hotel so there are more expensive options available on the Island for 'picky' customers. We booked late and had little choice on accomodation. But its a long time since I've seen a hotel in this state.

The 'sheets' are a strange brown/grey colour. I am sure they are cleaned, but they are old and show it. The 'quilt' is more of a bed cover, very thin and certainly doesn't seem too fresh.

The bathroom is functional, but has not seen a proper clean in some time. The cisten in the loo constantly runs, till you open it up and give a tug revealing some unpleasent orange sludge.

BUT for about £30 with breakfast thrown in, this would be ideal for people on a budget who too worried about the accomodation.

Breakfast is 'ok' for the price, but I wouldn't stay

“Brilliant service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

Whilst the hotel itself was in need of some refurbishment, the waiters couldn't have been more attentive, we really were completely taken care of during breakfast and dinner! Very impressed.
The pool was lovely, if a little cold!

However, the hotel is practically at the end of the airport runway, meaning we barely slept a wink as planesseemed to be constant, late into the night and then starting up again before 6am. And the hotel manager knocked very briefly and then walked straight into our room at one point, expecting us not to be there. Weird.
