We were a bit concerned before we came because we read some poor reviews. Lets just say that we were prepared for the worst. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. This is a lovely hotel and the staff are so accommodating. The rooms are spacious. The hotel food is nice and varied. Service is fantastic in every possible area. Admittedly the hotel needs a good refurbishment, a major one even, but they are making the best of what they have. We were given our hotel room, (Room No. 408), which we immediately asked to be changed as it was not acceptable. The balcony was out of bounds even though you had access to it, it was very dangerous for children. If you are going to this hotel, insist you are not in room 408! The manager happily moved us to a lovely room. The hotel is very friendly and great for children as it has a lovely area out the back with swings and climbing frames, tennis court (huge) and pitch and putt. The pool is nice (indoor and out) but looks like it could do with a clean up operation. The band on Monday and Thursday evenings starts at 9.00pm. A bit late. Not a young couples cup of tea. The band are not hugely children friendly and want you to clear the floor for the Guernsey Locals who like to come and waltz to their music! The Locals take over!!! Be warned. Overall had a nice time, probably would not stay there again unless huge upgrad
