True Hospitality
We stayed at the Hampshire for 3 nights including New Years Eve.
The façade is deceiving as the hotel stretches back to a very bright spacious bar/lounge area and dining room on the ground floor. Our room was surprisingly large, tastefully decorated, with ample space to hang and store our belongings. Tea/Coffee making facilities and the use of a hairdryer were provided. We loved the huge double bed and silky sheets. The well proportioned bathroom was clean and bright. Fluffy towels changed everyday.
Breakfast was cooked to order the first day with a choice of fruit, cereals, juices, croissant and marmalade on the buffet with a toaster for do-it-yourself hot white or brown toast. On the following day’s breakfast was presented on the buffet together with scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans and tasty bacon. I did mention to the Manager that when on holiday I quite like to indulge in Kippers or Smoked haddock for breakfast– he said just give 24 hours notice and it could be arranged. Unfortunately that was the night before we left.
The evening meals including New Years Eve dinner were excellent. Generous portions, I had the tastiest succulent Beef ever. My partner is a bit fussy but was easily accommodated.
Service was attentive but unobtrusive always helpful and friendly from front desk to bar, restaurant and housekeeping. The décor is fresh modern and furnishings comfortable. True hospitality.
When asked locally out and about where we stayed people were genuinely impressed. Being just 10 minutes walk to the centre of St. Helier we visited the museum bars and restaurants and indulged in some retail therapy.
We had a fantastic stay and New Year celebration. Would recommend and definitely go back.
