“Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else.....”

Have just returned from Jersey and a 2 night stay in the Royal Yacht. This was our 4th stay here and i must apologise to the Yacht for not reviewing it sooner. Twice we have stayed in a Platinum Room and Twice in Stargazer the Penthouse Suite. The rooms are all furnished to a high standard and the penthouse suites are even better!! We have never had any issues while staying here and always have rooms that overlook the front of the hotel, there are many reviews about the noise on Friday and Saturday night and it is true to say it does become lively out there at times, however if you sit and watch the sorry sights that emerge from the club in the early hours you will have an amusing half hour.
On this trip we ventured down to breakfast for the first time and found the selection as good as you will find anywhere, the breakfast if taken in your room is as good just not the full choice. All the eateries in the Hotel serve excellent food and the service you recieve from all the hotel staff is second to none.
If you get the opportunity to experience one of the Penthouse Suites then i urge you to book it, you will not want to leave the room, lovely extensive decked balcony with a hot tub and loads of outdoor furniture, if the sun is out it is the preverbial sun trap out there and you can enjoy many relaxing hours out there.....you cant beat sitting in the hot tub late at night sipping some "Fizz".
We will be returning to Jersey at the end of February and have booked another 2 nights in the Royal Yacht's Penthouse....

Room Tip: Platinum Rooms or Penthouse

“LIVELY BUT STILL WORTH A VISIT!”

This was one of a sequence of 'stays' that we made in the channel islands last summer. Our room was in the older part of the hotel and there were issues about its relationship to other rooms (people from an adjacent room could sit outside our bathroom window on their balcony which was most disconcerting and meant that we could not open the windows).
It was also an odd layout rather like a 'galley' kitchen but that actually worked to its advantage as it meant that there was less of a front facing elevation which would have otherwise made the continuous noise from the bar area below that went on well into the early hours every night completely unbearable.
We had no view other than that of a side street and its traffic and the wall mounted tv would not move or tilt and was at right angles to the bed away in the middle of the room and not watchable from the bed therefore.
If this sounds grim, it wasnt. We liked the hotel and found access to a roof area on the old building where we could sit and read and also see some of the marina from which was a bonus.
The breakfast was self-service and the best we had while in the channel islands bar none. The staff working in that area were very attentive and enhanced the dining experience at the start of each day. We also enjoyed a great steak in the Grill Bar at the rear of the hotel having most of our meals in the many restaurants in the nearby central town area. The hotel swimming pool was fine although we didnt like the fact that there were no personal lockers and you had to walk through the hotel in robes to use it.
The hotel offered easy access to St. Aubin Bay and its miles of near white sand (only a bit of walking involved) which we loved and we could walk around the nearby marina or visit the shopping area very easily.
We found the reception staff and porters very helpful even to the point of helping me to recover a valuable item more that a week after I realised that I had lost it in the hotel.
Overall we enjoyed being in the heart of the island

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room to minimise disturbance from the bar area If you like watching tv in bed ask t...

“Stunning!”

Had an amazing weekend in January at The Royal Yacht, even the sun shone and skies were blue ALL weekend! Having stayed in a platinum room last year, we came back knowing it was a beautiful and stylish hotel. After a surprise upgrade by a friend we found ourselves in The Stargazer Suite! WOW totally blown away! Stunning terrace with hot tub and views over the harbour. stylish lounge, four poster bed and luxury bathroom with tv. We didn't want to leave the room!!!!! Staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast delicious, everything you could want. Loved the spa, especially the hot stone beds....so relaxing. Will be back soon!!!

Room Tip: Have stayed in a platinum room which was beautiful, but the Stargazer suite is simply stunning!

“Superb minibreak”

Clear blue skies greeted us to this picturesque island.. The small airport meant that after twenty minutes we were in our car and good to go!! The journey to the hotel was quick and easy 15/20 mins.. we found the hotel no problem.. the carpark was more of a challenge. It is situated 5 mins walk uphill from the hotel, and chargable. Think before you hire a car as unless you want to tour the Island, you really don't need it staying at this hotel.
Our first impressions of The Royal Yacht Hotel were that it had a lovely outside seating area from the bar/restaurant, plenty of tables with the much welcome outdoor heaters.. We were however disappointed that it wasn't on the waters edge as we had expected.. We stupidly presumed that we would have good views of the harbour.
We booked a double room with balcony overlooking the distant views of the sea, on entering the room it was cold and unwelcoming, we couldn't fix the temperature so rang reception who then altered it as it can only be changed from there!!

From then on our stay was wonderful.. even though our room was over the noisy terrace it was fairly quiet once the balcony doors were closed.. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and fully equipped with a tv over the bath. The gym was small but had all the essentials, again the pool area was nice and relaxing..
We ate in the restaurant one evening and the service and food were of good standard, breakfast was ok but nothing special.. we particularly enjoyed a late lunch on the terrace in the crisp afternoon sun with a bowl of moules avec frites and a chilled bottle of rose.

I would recommend to stay here as the hotel has all you need and is in a very central location.. And almost forgot.. the bar makes fabulous cocktails :)

We have just returned from our stay at this great hotel. Will highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys Spa Facilities & being pampered with the Spa Treatments that are available. Great choice of Bars & Restaurants within the hotel. There is also a Nightclub, we did not really stay late here only arrived for pre dinner drinks. Once tucked up in bed we could not hear any noise from this nightclub.
We ate in the Sirocco Restaurant and cannot fault the food at all - really tasty and presented to high standards. The Grill Restaurant was also a great place to eat. All staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and pleasant nothing to much trouble. We had the Gold Deluxe room which was spacious. Will we be back? Yes we will...

Room Tip: Rooms at the side facing the museum will be quieter in high season.
