This hotel gave everything you could ask for.We stayed 9 days, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Most hotels i have stayed in, the staff give the attitude that i,ll smile cos ive been told told. But the staff in Samares seem so genuinely happy to help. And not just the odd ones.100% of themWe stayed in room 25 which only looked over car park, but this did not stop us from enjoying our stay.We just had b & b which was very enjoyable.Everything for a typical english brekky was there and more. The view from the dining room was gorgeous. We enjoyed a couple of room service snacks, dinner time snack in bar and evening meal. The rest of the time we drove round the island to different restaurants. We hired a car after a couple of days into the hol.We found it more enjoyable to go exactly where we wanted and when, although the bus services were excellent. The bus stops for either way, are right outside the hotel..We went to the fitness centre everyday. Most times we had it to ourselves. The jacuzzi is heaven. But watch out in the ladies shower. The waters that powerful it was like needles on your tender parts. So thankyou Samares staff and Jersey for such a lovely holiday.

“Floorboards!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011 via mobile

The room we were allocated was clean, a tad dated but that's what I expect from local hotels with a floundering tourist industry.

The staff were nice enough...but my main complaint was the floorboards. We were allocated room 31 (avoid at all costs) which is situated ring next to the stairwell, lift shaft and apparently every other person on the island wants to walk past. Over the creaky floorboards all night was a nightmare.

Also a 10am checkout time is a bit early for people that may want to relax in the spa, which is the main fantastic selling point of the hotel!

Thank you for your comments. We are so pleased that you found that our spa area was fantastic and that our hotel is clean. We will now investigate the floorboard noise issue mentioned, outside of Bedroom 31, as this matter may well be easily resolved especially as this part of the building is of recent construction. We are sorry for any disturbance caused - which was also a product of our very high occupancy. The Samares Coast is a successful traditional sea front hotel and does enjoy a high level of occupancy, during our open months, from early April until early October each year.

We are part of a well funded and successful long established family owned hotel group and have always operated this hotel on a seasonal basis which gives us the opportunity to attend to any more disruptive maintenance matters when the hotel is closed, during the off-season months of the year. We close for the winter period in just two weeks time following, thankfully, another successful visitor season.

By way of note, Jersey remains with a very strong economy with tourism to the Island remaining as an important and much valued component of Island life. Thank you.

“Well worth a trip :-)”

We arrived 1800, and where greated by a gent called stanley who was very well presented he asked us if we needed help with our cases we said we would be ok but he helped us anyway, we checked in and where told how everything worked and was asked if we would like newspapers delivering to our room :)

The room was nicely presented with large bay window and a shower en suite, There was a lovely sea view from the restaurant :o )

Very clean, nice food and alternative grill menu for fussy eaters there was waiter service also special mention for IZA who was very professional she is polish we believe but speaks great english. I don't think we encountered and unprofessional staff everyone was smart and polite.

Would recommend!!

The gym is small but has everything you should need, the pool is nice indoor and outdoor, was a bit chilly for the outdoor pool so we didn't venture in, the indoor pool could be a little warmer but it isn't freezing!! And the jacuzzi also good.

a couple of times diner was slow to arrive > 30 mins but this was apparently due to a mix up with the tickets ordered the staff where apologetic :0)

Overall fantastic - 99.9%

“A great hotel with great staff”

We stayed at this hotel for the August bank holiday.
We arrived earlier than the check in time and asked when we would be able to have our room, we were informed that they would have the room ready within ten minutes. This excellent customer service continued throughout our stay. This hotel although rated as a three star should be a four star as the staff, food and cleanness of the hotel surpassed any three star hotel that I have ever stayed in.
I must say that the General Manager deserves to be acknowledged for his professional running of this hotel. On three occasions he asked us if everything was ok and we felt that we were treated as a valued customer, something we have not always experienced in some five star hotels. The Morven Group should be very proud to have such a fantastic group of individuals working at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Jersey.
